the experience of young adulthood is a myriad of emotions often resulting in rebellion. we are taught that people who work hard earn great prosperity, and those who do not, sit without great prosperity. this is a stark contrast from what we see in our everyday lives: the people who work hard often are the victims of indifference, or losers.
the extreme reversal of values in the world of a young adult spawns distrust between young adults and adults. among the midst of this rift, rebellion lies, compelling teens to act outside of accordance with the inherently evil authority figures.
