Who is Elijah?

Elijah Pittman is a journalist, freelance photographer, and student at Howard University. Pittman is a writer with expertise in Black anti-colonialism, race relations, and Black politics. He has served as a writer for the Morgan State University Spokesman and the NABJ Monitor where he covered state politics, Black culture, and student life. Pittman transferred from Morgan State to Howard University in the Spring of 2024 and is continuing his education there. Pittman is currently an intern at the Investigative Reporting Workshop where he works under Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Wesley Lowery.

Pittman has also worked on developing his craft of photography over the last 5 years and has taken on a range of clients and opportunities from concerts, to events, to studio photoshoots, to even street photography, equipping him with the ability to shoot in nearly any environment.

Mission

Elijah Pittman is on a mission to use multimedia journalism to raise the socio-political consciousness of Black youth in not only the Baltimore and Washington D.C. areas but across the Afro-Diaspora.
